tvsdesign Chicago Office Renovation, LEED CI Gold
This office expansion and redesign is responsive to the historic design covenants of Chicago’s Rookery Building. The overall concept embraces an open floor plan with glass walls offering transparency between spaces and views into the Rookery atrium. Gathering and group collaboration areas were integrated creating a fun, collaborative environment while still portraying the professionalism clients expect.
To achieve LEED CI Gold certification in the Chicago office, 75% of the construction waste was diverted from entering a landfill. Other sustainable strategies for the space include:
100% of the office’s energy usage is offset with renewable energy sources; Office is located within close proximity of public transportation; Water efficient fixtures; Storage & Collection of Recyclables; All equipment and appliances are Energy Star rated; All general work stations are located along building perimeter/atrium; Energy-Efficient Lighting – Occupancy Sensors and Daylighting Controls; All systems furniture and seating is Greenguard Certified; Specifying Materials with recycled content, manufactured regionally, low VOC; Indoor Air Quality Management Plan.
