tvsdesign Atlanta Office Renovation, LEED CI Silver
With a growing global practice tvsdesign found it necessary to look to the future and discover how the practice would change over the next 10+ years. Implementing sustainable design initiatives, the workplace became open, transparent, and flexible. Bright colors, interactive spaces, daylight, and lofty ceilings define the new office and an efficient and productive work environment.
The new tvsdesign Atlanta office received a LEED CI Silver rating from the USGBC. More than 340 tons of the demolition and construction waste was diverted from entering a landfill. In addition, prior to the start of construction, office supplies, architectural samples and miscellaneous furniture items were donated for reuse.
Other sustainable strategies include: Local, recycled, and rapidly renewable materials specified; Maximized daylight and views; Monitoring of thermal comfort; Renewable energy credits were purchased for 100% of the office’s energy usage for 2 years; Materials and finishes were specified with low or no VOCs; Potable water use reduced by more than 30%; Alternative transportation in close proximity to the office; Bike racks, showers and an office fitness facility; EnergyStar equipment and appliances.
