A central feature of the City of Chengdu’s development strategy of “one axis,three centers, two hubs and four bases” is the Sha-He-Bao high-speed train station and redevelopment of 10 sq km of industrial land around the station to form a major mixed use hub for the region – the Tianfu Garden City. The city selected tvsdesign to prepare a development strategy for redevelopment of the 10 sq km area and an urban design concept for construction of a one sq km mixed use core within the new city – the High Hub Focus Area. The High Hub is envisioned as a energetic, ecological and easy place for high-end business, commerce and commercial residence.

tvsdesign’s concept derives its form from a strong sustainable development and urban place-making strategy that focuses on three elements: carbon reduction/absorption; water retention/recycling; and energy conservation/ production.
